The Nicene Creed
The Nicene Creed AD325
God, the Father, the Almighty and creator of all that is seen and unseen, is our belief system.
Those who believe in Jesus Christ as God's only Son believe that he was eternally begotten by the Father and that he is the only Son of God. All things were created by him, and he alone.
We are saved because of his descent from heaven; he was incarnated from Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit, and became a man. He was crucified and buried by Pontius Pilate for our benefit; he died and was buried. The third day, he ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of the Father, in accordance with what the Scriptures say.
After his glorious return to judge the living and the dead, the kingdom he establishes will have no beginning or ending.
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the Lord, the source of life, and the third Person of the Trinity. He is revered and honoured alongside the Father and the Son. Through the Prophets, he has spoken to us. A single, catholic and apostolic Church is what we believe in. To be cleansed of one's sins, one must be baptised. Resurrection and life after death are two things we are eagerly anticipating.
Amen.
