Communion Prayers

Lord,

As we drink this wine, we are reminded that you are the source of life.

You are forgiveness; You grant our souls great calm, and Your love flows through us.

We see Your sacrifice poured out for us as we pour out this wine.

We are aware of the breadth of Your goodness and the agony You endured for us.

We ponder the complexities of human life and the cost You paid to set humanity free.

Yet, just as the gravestone rolled away to reveal the Risen Lord, Your light now beams in our hearts, dispelling all darkness and allowing Heaven's benefits to descend upon us.

Many thanks, Lord.

Communion Prayer Before The Bread

Lord,

As we partake of this bread, we are reminded that You are the bread of life.

You nurture our spirits, You nourish our hearts, and You provide us with the sustenance necessary to complete the race before us.

We sense the gentleness of Your love for us when we break the bread.

Each day, we smell the fragrance of the grace You pour out.

We am eternally grateful for the huge price You paid when You were crucified for us.

Yet, just as yeast causes bread to rise, You rose triumphantly from the dead as Lord of Lords and King of Kings for all time and our loving Saviour.

Prayer Before Communion

Lord, 

The incredible sacrifice You made by sending Your precious Son, Jesus, to be with us is what we remember today as we unite as brothers and sisters in Christ. The words, deeds, and obedience of Jesus on the cross are a legacy we praise You for.

Forgive us, Lord, for any thoughts, words, or deeds that have not glorified Your name. We're also sorry for the times we've ignored Your call to serve You and instead opted to live for ourselves. As we take communion, we welcome you to join us in our hearts. As we sit down to eat, let Your love to tie us together as a family.

God, thank You for the grace You have shown to us.

Post Communion Prayer

Please, O Most Gracious Father,

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the heavenly supper You have lavished upon us. We are grateful to have this eternal goodness in our souls. Please allow Your love and light to shine through us, illuminating the dark and bringing hope to those who are despondent. Please, in the name of Jesus, send us now in the name of the Holy Spirit. May we live up to the potential You have placed in us.

We pray to God in Jesus' name.
